Recently, Odesa IT Family together with Odesa National University named after I.I. Mechnikov and with the support of educational tech-space Atom Space started a cycle of career orientation lectures for students and high school students.
Today we will tell you a little more about Atom Space and their contribution to the development of IT education.
Atom Space is a non-commercial educational tech space for young people aged 16 to 20 in Odesa. For more than 5 years, a community of volunteer IT specialists has been gathering under one roof or in one zoom room, who share their experience and technical knowledge with young people. who is just starting out in the IT field and wants to absorb knowledge. During this time, Atom Space has gathered its audience of 85 mentors and more than 200 residents, 80 of whom got their first job thanks to taking courses and personal mentoring at Atom Space.
The war forced the project to slow down for a while, but the team still gathers mentors around the world and even at this time recruits new residents. Residents of Atom Space, taking experience from active specialists, are already prepared to work in companies on real tasks and know how the processes are organized. Already at the age of 17-18, they become full-time employees of companies operating both in Ukraine and abroad. Mentors get their benefit: the teaching process not only deepens the specialist’s technical knowledge, but also develops leadership qualities and trains communication skills.
Atom Space is constantly looking for mentors to teach courses in any programming language, tech disciplines, and even short express lectures, workshops that will help residents familiarize themselves with any knowledge.
You can always join and share your knowledge!
The space offers all the conditions for teaching:
