A leader (without) instructions is exactly what today’s leader is

🔴 A leader (without) instructions is exactly what today’s leader is.

At the first panel discussion of IT Wave 2025, we talked about what does not fit into templates and job descriptions.

Because managing a team in the era of artificial intelligence, turbulence, and generations Z and Alpha is no longer about control. It’s about responsiveness, adaptability, and meaning.

📌 What did you hear?

– Teams are made up of different generations – X, Y, Z, Alpha – and that’s okay. Everyone has their own strengths, and the leader’s task is to unite them without trying to “average” them.

– Younger generations want not just a job, but to see their value in the company. And they leave not because the generation is “jumping,” but because they don’t feel the point.

🔁 A lot has changed after the full-scale invasion:

– Planning has become flexible: we no longer say “once and for all”, but keep the course, but change the route.

– The leader is no longer an authoritarian figure. He/she is a person who hears, sees, and backs up.

– The balance between empathy and results is not a fashion trend, but a condition for the team’s survival.

🤖 What about artificial intelligence?

– Yes, it’s already here.

– Yes, it will help in operational tasks.

– But AI will not replace a leader – someone who feels, who can be supported, who is worth waiting for, and who makes decisions without ready-made instructions every time.

🎤 The discussion was attended by:

▪️ Vadym Drumov – Hillel IT School

▪️ Olena Korsun – SoftServe, IT Dnipro Community

▪️ Olena Hryhorko – Luxoft, IT Dnipro Community

▪️ Sergiy Garashchuk – EPAM

▪️ Mykhailo Lobachev – AIR Institute, R&D Cluster Odesa

🎙️Moderated by Alina Pervushyna, PR director of Hillel IT School

🌊 The panel “Leader (without) instructions” reminded us that the main thing is not to know all the answers. The main thing is to be close and look for them together.
