EPAM IT-company and the Monster Corporation Charitable Foundation have equipped a stabilization center for Ukraine’s defenders.

EPAM, the largest IT company in Ukraine, regularly helps Ukrainian defenders and medics at the frontline. In September, the company allocated UAH 615 thousand to the Odesa-based charity foundation Monster Corporation to purchase medical equipment.

Tables for operations, defibrillators, ventilators, sterilizers, monitors, infusion pumps and other equipment were installed at a stabilization point located in the Kharkiv sector.
– “The importance of stabilization units cannot be overestimated,” says Kateryna Nozhevnikova, founder and head of the Monster Corporation charity foundation, “The most important thing in any hospital is the operating room. Staging posts are operating rooms for military and civilians who are near the combat zone. When the evacuation arm is too long, the wounded may not be transported to inpatient hospitals in time. That’s why 60-80% of people are rescued at such points.

Surgeons, anesthesiologists, rheumatologists and other doctors work in stabilization centers to eliminate the consequences of injuries or perform surgery. As a rule, these are emergency operations when minutes count. For example, if a tourniquet is applied and not converted within two hours, the limb will have to be amputated. That is why the location of “stubs” near the contact line is a necessity. Mobile operating rooms save hundreds of lives every day.
