Recently, Odesa IT Family and the Agency for Regional Development of the Odesa region signed a Memorandum of Cooperation, and last week they participated in a meeting organized by the Agency team, the purpose of which was to improve communication between representatives of the IT industry and strategic planning experts of the Swiss-Ukrainian DECIDE project, Myroslav Koshelyuk and Dmytro Lyvchy, a representative of the leading company in the field of CIVITTA management consulting and updating the development strategy of Odesa. This is an important step in ensuring sustainable and successful development of the region.

On behalf of Odesa IT Family, CEO of Odesa IT Family Kateryna Solovei took part in the meeting, who noted that it is very important to include in Odesa’s strategic document a plan of measures to strengthen cross-sectoral interaction and create a startup ecosystem, which will contribute to the development of new businesses, attracting investments and implementing innovations in other sectors of medium and small businesses.

During the regular meeting, each participant had the opportunity to share their long-term experience, vision of existing problems in the fields, obstacles on the way to the development of Odesa, as well as to discuss the possibilities of solving them and the priority directions of forming a strategic development document.

Results and conclusions of the discussion:
1. Development of Odesa requires a holistic approach that takes into account external and internal constraints: lack of human capital, equipment, professional skills, and financial resources for project implementation.
2. Highlighted recommendations of each participant regarding the vision of the development of the Odesa region will be taken into account to update the regional development strategy.
3. The Agency team created separate chat rooms for additional initiatives and active discussions of problems in each field.
