Odesa IT Research ’24: How the Odesa IT market is changing

We at Odesa IT Family have conducted a large-scale study of the Odesa IT market – more than 1000 questionnaires have been collected! The results show interesting trends that are worth discussing.

The main findings of the study: Compared to 2023, the number of individual entrepreneurs in the IT sector has decreased by 5.9%, which may indicate certain challenges for self-employed IT professionals. At the same time, the number of registered legal entities in the IT industry grew by an impressive 106%, indicating business consolidation and a change in the format of companies’ operations. More than 40% of IT workers express fears of losing their jobs.

Salaries and taxes: The IT sector continues to be an important source of budget revenues. Significant amounts of taxes have been paid, including the unified tax, personal income tax, income tax, and military duty. The average salary of IT workers remains competitive, but economic challenges may affect its growth.

What’s next? The survey results emphasize the importance of supporting the IT industry, which is key to Odesa’s economy. Despite the challenges, the sector continues to develop, adapting to new realities.
