“Proposals of non-governmental organizations to the Strategy for the Restoration and Development of the Odesa Region”
Yesterday, Odesa IT Family took part in the event “Offers of public organizations to the Strategy for the Restoration and Development of the Odesa Region”.

The collection of offers is part of the analytical work and aims to develop the recommendations of the working group on the development of the Strategy for the comprehensive post-war recovery and development of the Odesa region, which was created by order of the Chief of the Odesa Regional Military Administration. During the meeting, we discussed needs and challenges related to the recovery and development of the region and proposed project ideas.

Vlad Shymov, CEO of Capgemini Engineering Ukraine, took part in the event on behalf of Odesa IT Family.

The main theses of the meeting:

The return of people will be a big problem, as many of them have already settled outside of Ukraine and it will not be easy for them to make a decision to return. We need to think about what kind of anchor projects should be created, which would give a signal that the region is developing and there are more prospects here than in the West.
The development of the region is the development of the main types of activities that traditionally create the majority of jobs. These are ports and logistics, agriculture, seafarers and IT/innovation.

Vlad expressed the opinion that it is very important to spread the teaching of English and promote IT education so that foreign companies see the labor potential in the Odesa region.

The collection of offers is carried out by the NGO “Agency for Reconstruction and Development” with the support of the “Join!” Public Activity Promotion Program. (USAID/ENGAGE).
Thanks to the Odesa Regional State Administration for the meeting. We are always happy to join and express our suggestions necessary in our opinion for the support and development of the industry in the region.
