Cybersecurity Trends

Vadim Chakryan, Information Security Officer at DataArt, delved into the intricacies of cybersecurity and danger in our career-oriented lecture.

Technologies surround us: smart clothing, smart backpacks, smart homes and cities, humanoid robots, metaverse. Each new technological solution carries both positive aspects and new cyber threats.

In his presentation, Vadim shared his thoughts on the technological future that awaits us and the challenges it creates for each of us in cyberspace.

Based on current trends, the field of cybersecurity will only become more relevant, and cybersecurity experts will not only protect digital systems but also save lives literally.

If you are interested in this topic, you can choose it for your professional development. One piece of advice shared during the talk is to determine whether you want to defend systems or break into them. In any case, you will need to understand both directions, but initially, you should focus on something. Once you’ve chosen a direction, create an educational plan for yourself and start your journey into the world of cybersecurity.

If you plan to remain a user of technologies, there are several tips that will significantly enhance your cybersecurity now:

Set up multi-factor authentication on all services.
Use strong passwords and store them securely.
Update all operating systems, programs, Wi-Fi firmware, and other devices.
Avoid using pirated software and stolen intellectual property.
Check privacy settings in all online services (social networks, messengers, email, etc.).
And most importantly, do not click on unfamiliar links and files.

Thanks to Vadim for the abundance of useful advice for students!
